And I was right to do so, as this book, too, contained new or simply differently told events I truly enjoyed. I considered skipping the first eight books as I believed that they will be the same as what I've already seen, but in fear that I'd miss out on something I started with the first book. This moment is memorable because this is a very unique style of writing I find is abundant in this series, it requires critical and logical thinking involving trickery and other similar things.įirst I have to confess that I've begun listening to Deltora Quest after I have watched the anime made based on these books and realising, that the books tell the story further. The bewitched guard now says that Lief must say a statement, if it is true, the giant will strangle Lief, if it is false, Lief will be beheaded. Lief - being the smart little fellow he is (!) - enrages the guard. Lief, however, answered wrongly (due to the lack of information) the guard immediately says that Lief must be killed.

Jasmine feels sorrow for the golden-eyed, giant man, and the three move toward him, what follows is the man raising his sword. The three face many varying challenges including: kidnapping, deception, and onslaught, only to retrieve the Ruby and to journey forth to The City of Rats - which continues in a book named the very same.A memorable moment in the text was when Lief, Barda and Jasmine, on their second day, reach a bridge with a guard that has been bewitched by Thaegan. Jasmine - at first - is very reluctant to move on to The Lake of Tears because of it being ruled by the evil sorceress, Thaegan. The trio's next destination is The Lake of Tears, where they will aim to acquire the coming gem (the Ruby) and face the next jeopardous guardian.
